One more thing ahead of that meeting, Brian. This time around, we’re sending a few questions for candidates to answer before the meeting. You can respond by writing answers in an email back to me and I’ll distribute to the rest of the board.

Here are the questions:

-What made you want to run for this position?

-What are the three biggest challenges facing the city?

-What should be the top three priorities for the city of Bozeman, and which is the most urgent?

-What, if anything, can the city do to bring wages more in line with housing costs or hold housing costs steady?

-The tension between growth in Bozeman and the preservation of our local beauty and way of life is a continual issue that lands at the feet of the Bozeman civic leadership. Neither side can dominate, but both need to happen. How will you help manage this?

-Is affordable housing an attainable goal for the city or will we just continue to struggle with it? What would you recommend?

Please have those answers shipped my way by the Tuesday before the meeting.

Cheers

Michael

Hi Brian — I’m Michael Wright, editor at the Bozeman Daily Chronicle.

I’m reaching out to see if we can find a time for you to sit down with the editorial board in the coming weeks for an endorsement interview.

The board typically meets on Wednesday afternoons, but I believe we can be flexible. We’ll have a lot of interviews to do ahead of the election, and would like to have them wrapped up by the end of September. Are there any dates that would work for you?

Thanks,

Michael
